Our Story
The Hastina Café was born from a simple belief: life feels better under an open sky. Growing up in Hastipuram, we learned that the best moments aren't rushed — they're shared with family, friends, fresh food, and nature.
As cities grew busier and life moved indoors, we wanted to create a place where people could slow down, breathe, and reconnect. We also noticed something missing close to home — a place where people could enjoy handcrafted Continental food alongside a truly great cup of specialty coffee, all in a beautiful rooftop setting.

“Recently visited this cafe Called! Hastina roof top cafe! Which is located on main road itself. The waffles were outstanding—perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining light and fluffy on the inside. They were served warm and paired beautifully with generous, well-balanced toppings that weren’t overly sweet. Each bite felt fresh and satisfying, making it clear they’re made with care. The tiramisu was just as impressive. Smooth, creamy layers with a rich coffee flavor, not too heavy, and with just the right amount of cocoa on top. The balance between the mascarpone and espresso was spot on, giving it an authentic, comforting taste without being overwhelming. Overall, a great spot for dessert lovers. Both the waffle and tiramisu were memorable and definitely worth coming back for.”

Founder & CEO
Ponnila founded The Hastina Cafe to offer a new kind of continental escape in Chennai. She is particular about her vision, especially the rooftop view, and puts the same attention into the overall vibe. As CEO, she's building more than just a cafe; she's fostering a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel comfortable.
Head - Chef de Partie
Introducing Our Executive Chef, driven by precision, creativity, and a deep respect for ingredients. Leads our culinary team with exceptional vision. Having trained at top kitchens in Chennai, they bring a refined approach to our kitchen, specialising in elevated, Continental/French/Italian, dining and ensuring every dish that leaves the pass is a masterpiece of flavour and presentation.
Tech Lead
Subash is the tech lead at The Hastina Cafe, responsible for overseeing the digital infrastructure and ensuring seamless online experiences for customers. With a background in software development and a passion for technology, he implements innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer engagement.
